My Hero.................recognition!

Well Geary is gonna kick my butt for writing this, but I thought it was extremely cool!

The other night at work, a guest called down and told the PBX operator she was having trouble breathing. So Geary and several others in the engineering department and the manager on duty go up to the woman's room. They were unable to enter because she had the privacy latch on. They asked her if she was able to undo the privacy latch. During her attempt they hear her hit the floor.

The manager on duty rams the door with his shoulder three or four times, with no success just bruising. So Geary tells the crew, hold the latch like this and stand to the side. They did so and he kicked the door breaking the privacy latch.

Finding the woman near unconsciousness, half dressed and worried. Geary quickly started telling people what they needed to do. You calm her down, You cover her up, and you apply the oxygen. Stay calm help is on the way. When the EMS first responder arrived he had nothing to do except check her pulse, because Geary had made sure to handle the situation.

Well the next morning he was greeted by hotel employees there is the "Hero"! He was upset, "I just did my job, I'm no hero." Many were impressed though. He blew it off and continually said "I just did my job".

Today he received a letter from the resort manger that congratulated him on his calm, caring, quick actions and going above and beyond his job duties and magnifying the Four Seasons mission with his team. So, although he hates the lime light, the woman he helped is extremely grateful and I am very proud of him for using his brain and keeping his cool. Enjoy the pats on the back Geary, you deserve them, job well done and I love you! This is your second work "WOW" in a month! Way to go!! ( a "wow" is when hotel guest or fellow employee/manager brags about the wonderful service given to them or others in the hotel by an employee)

"I GOT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Spencer now has his own e-mail address. He wrote me last night and I wanted to share what he had to say, so cute. So I quote, even the title of the blog.....

"I just got my webelo and ARROW OF LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The arrow of light is the highest award a cub scout can get!
I feel like it is my birthday!"

Love

Spencer

Spencer, I am so proud of you! It takes hard work and dedication to earn scouting awards, badges and soforth. Keep up the good work! LOVE- Mom

why why why?

Had to laugh.....
Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are getting dead?
Why do banks charge a fee on 'insufficient funds' when they know there is not enough money?
Why does someone believe you when you say there are four billion stars, but check when you say the paint is wet?
Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?
Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?
Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Whose idea was it to put an 'S' in the word 'lisp'? why is there an 's'?
If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?
Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white? Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?
Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
Why is it that no plastic bag will open from the end on your first try?
How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?
When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a shopping cart then apologizes for doing so, why do we say, 'It's all right?' Well, it isn't all right, so why don't we say, 'That really hurt, why don't you watch where you're going?'
Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
In winter why do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?
How come you never hear father-in-law jokes?

The statistics on sanity is that one out of every four persons is suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three people you admire-- if they're okay, then it's you.
****A day without a smile is like a day without sunshine****

After my previous blog I opened my e-mail and found this. Maybe, just maybe, I am normal!

Nothing sexy about my Rain

Kenny Chestney sings "There's something sexy about the rain".

Well I disagree! In my life when it rains it pours. I can't find anything too sexy about that! Some of you may be able to, but not I.

I seem to make it through the storms, one way or another; but I still lack the knack that some of you have to see the beauty or lesson (sexiness) in it all. I can see the light as the storm rolls, I see the rainbow when it's all over, I look back and see the lesson learned and the blessings; and I'm the type that can see the "sexiness" in others storms but not my own. Why is that?

Why are some of us to prone to being upbeat and positive (most) all of the time, on & off, and some (most) never? Is this a inherited personality trait? Is it a learned behavior? Is it a choice we make subconsciously? Now I know, that we can make a choice at any time to change are thinking, but our initial reaction is what I'm talking about.

Well as the rain pours in life right now, I am numb. Yet, I had the above, you might say odd thoughts that I've felt like writing about. Lucky reader you! LOL
Does anyone else ever wonder about the things I do? Do you ever feel like you're ready to quit treading the water and see what happens? Do you ever feel like you try in vain? Do you ever feel deceived about the choices you made during your stormy times; yet they felt so right at the time? (Maybe I just think to much.)

I guess this all makes me thankful even more for the SUNSHINE!
